Songs of Ancient Lands

Saturday 4/26  7pm /  Sunday 4/27  3pm
St. Anthony’s Chapel at the Garden Street Academy

In proximity to Orthodox Easter, the Quire presents one of the crowning jewels of a cappella music, the All Night Vigil by Rachmaninoff. Praised as the composer’s finest piece and “the greatest musical achievement of the Russian Orthodox Church,” it was a cherished work of the composer himself, who chose a movement to be played at his own funeral. It’s a stirring, lavish piece not to be missed.
